What is Faith?

Our Sermons

All of us have faith, it’s just that we use it differently.  Some of us have faith that things will work out, while others believe everything is going too well, and something bad is going to happen, but what is faith? It’s not easy to answer that one. The dictionary defines faith as “strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.”

That kind of sounds like faith is a leap in the dark based on nothing. But is that really what faith is, believing in something without proof? Having faith in God sounds like it’s on par with believing in the tooth fairy or the boogie man.

The Bible tells us that faith “is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we can’t see.” (Hebrews 1:1 NLT)

Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as Rev. Jim Johnson takes a look at the faith we need in a world of uncertainty. How do we tap into this faith and get the confident assurance that we need to navigate 2025.
