This Sunday is our first of six in the season of Lent.
Lent is the 40 days (except Sundays) prior to Easter Day.
It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on the Saturday after Good Friday.
It is a gift that enables us to faithfully prepare for majesty, splendour, wonder, and beauty of Easter.
Easter Day marks the beginning of the Easter season which last for 50 days and ends on the Day of Pentecost.
Without Lent we wouldn’t have the time necessary to prepare ourselves for what is to come at Easter.
May we use the gift of Lent, and it’s 40 days, wisely and faithfully.
May we dwell upon and abide in the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ as most clearly expressed on the cross.
