Naturally, the early workers respond the way many of us would in 2026: they compare,
calculate, and mentally open the spreadsheet. “How is this fair?” they wonder.
Jesus knows our hearts well. We love fairness, especially when fairness benefits us.
We keep score, we track progress, and we rank everything from our favourite coffee shops to
our daily step counts. But God’s kingdom doesn’t run on our scoring system. It runs on grace.
