Church on a spring Sunday morning. The text is known, an old friend. Sunday’s can be a bit jarring. You settle into a comfortable chair and you are a bit lost with some unfamiliar idea, some alien text. It feels to me some Sundays that I’m being pushed and prodded by a pushy preacher peddling an even pushier passage! Not this Sunday. The fourth Sunday in Easter is known in the church’s year as “Shepherd’s Sunday” the text are all to do with shepherds and Jesus the Good Shepherd. This morning I’d like us to have a look at Psalm 23, the Good Shepherd Psalm.
