Matthew 5:14-15 New International Version (NIV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Christmas in April!

This is Holy Week. Why is Holy Week important? It is important as it reminds people of God’s sacrifice of His son, and God’s love for people. People can learn much about Jesus through the last week of his life.

As we look around our world, our country and our neighbourhoods we see sacrifice. What I see is humankind working together to a common goal – rid the world of COVID-19. In the fight against this, people of all different races, color, culture and creed are fighting for these.

At Christmas we celebrate the Good News of Jesus coming. We decorate our homes and put light out to let people know that we are celebrating.

Might I suggest we put up our Christmas lights, turn them on each night in April for all people who are “essential services” as they drive to work or home, they see we are cheering them on!

I am going out to put up my Christmas lights.
