Getting on a sports team isn’t easy whether it’s hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball or any other sport. The more competitive the league the tougher it is to make the grade. And if you want to make the All Star Team, not only do you have to be the best of the best, but you have to be chosen.
As I thought about this, I began to wonder … if God had an All Star Team, what would it look like? Who do you think would be on that team? There are some that don’t require much thought, Moses, Abraham, Elijah & Joshua … How about Deborah, she was a prophet and a judge … King David, he was a man after God’s own heart, Paul, he’s definitely “A” team material, Rahab’s faith stood out, risking her life for others, Joseph with his coat of many colours, another good choice, Esther, and let’s not forget Jesus mother Mary …. Billy Graham he’s got to be on that team too …. How about you and me … hmmm that requires a little more thought, it’s not like we’re anything that special, I may come up with a good sermon once in a while, but All Star material I’m not so sure????
