This Sunday is Transfiguration Sunday, the last Sunday before the season of Lent. Jesus and a few of His disciples ascend to the mountain top where He is transfigured before their eyes. Jesus’ robe becomes dazzling white and God speaks from a cloud.
Mark 9:2-9 is a dramatic event in the life of Christ and the Church.
Clearly something amazing and life changing is happening here on the mountain.
It is as if Jesus is being singled out and held up high just prior to His embarking on something huge.
Transfiguration Sunday gives us the opportunity to hold Jesus high one more time before He ventures low in the murkiness and shadows of Lent.
Come worship Sunday beginning at 10:30 in person or online.
There is always room enough for everyone.
