The disciples had a fairly routine life, for the most part, they were fishermen. They knew what they would do each day, what they would eat where they would go, who they would see. But when Jesus came along, He rocked the boat, the daily routine wasn’t routine anymore, Life with Jesus was full of surprises. Water became wine, just a few fish and a couple of loaves of bread could feed thousands, people didn’t always stay dead, people who were sick got well, and He was just getting started.
God has always challenged our sense of normal, He’s been in the business of rocking the boat since the beginning of creation. As we face a world that is constantly changing, it’s good to know that no matter what life throws at us, Jesus already has a plan and He wants to take us along for the ride.
