This Sunday, as we gather on Remembrance Day Sunday, we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of others.
We remember their courage, their service, their love, and the freedoms we enjoy because of their willingness to give so much.
But remembrance also invites us to ask an important question: What does it really mean to love someone?
In John 15:9–17, Jesus gives us one of the most powerful statements in Scripture: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
These are not just beautiful words. They remind us that love is much more than something we say. Love is something we demonstrate.
Sometimes it means sacrifice. Sometimes it means putting someone else first. Sometimes it means standing firm when life gets difficult.
As we remember those who gave their lives in service to others, we will also discover something even deeper: the extraordinary love of Jesus, who gave His life for us. And here is the wonderful news: we are not simply called to remember His love. We are called to live it!
Join us this Sunday as we reflect on “GREATER LOVE.” Because the greatest love is not measured by what we receive, but by what we are willing to give.
Lest we forget.
And may we never forget the love of Christ.
