Learning To Serve

Our Sermons

I used to play ping pong, I wasn’t really great at it, but I loved playing, and I usually didn’t lose … too badly. I remember playing Len Won, one of the older elders from my congregation in Kapuskasing. He had a phenomenal serve, he could place the ball anywhere he wanted with a spin that sent the ball in any direction he chose. The amazing thing was, he could do it all with very little effort. Before we played Len told me that he used to play a bit of ping pong when he was younger. What he didn’t tell me was that he played in the national level in China. Although he would never say it, Len was a great ping pong player.

Most of us strive for greatness, we want to be great at something, but what is greatness, and if we become great what do we do with it? Think of some of the greats, there’s the Great Wall of China, Alexander was great, they say P.T. Barnum was the Greatest Showman, who can forget The Great One, and remember Tony the Tiger, he said that Frosted Flakes are Grrrreat! I’m sure there are many more, but how about you and me, how do we stack up with the greats of the world? This Sunday Rev. Jim Johnson will help us discover the secret to greatness, and  that “You Are Great!”

Join us after our servie for a time of fellowship in Celebration Hall.  All are welcome!
