Our society operates according to a system of rules, regulations, and laws. We drive on the right side of the road – we stop at stop signs – we give pedestrians the right of way – and we don’t drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. And if we DON’T follow the law, we run the risk of ruining our lives or the lives of others. But are there times when our strict adherence to the law can actually have a negative impact on others? When Jesus walked this earth, he chastised those who cared for the law more deeply than they cared for others. As we conclude our Transitions sermon series on Sunday, we’ll examine the scriptures to help us discover if something has become an unnecessary law in our lives that is impeding our relationships – with God and with others. It’s my prayer that this teaching will assist us in caring deeply for one another as we prepare for a time of transition at Living Faith.
